Hwayo is a leading traditional Korean premium Soju crafted from the purest rice as the choice of grain base. The brand is considered a leading force in re-popularizing proper, artisan crafted Korean soju within South Korea, and spearheads internationalization efforts abroad with much zealousness as well.

With the Korea peninsula's rich and tumultuous history, the art of traditional soju has been suppressed in several occasions, notably during the Japanese occupation c.1916, and several years later the birth of diluted soju around 1965, in an attempt by the Government to regulate grain supply in light of the rice supply and demand crisis.

Today, we see traditionally distilled soju slowly coming back and in no small part due to the popularization of Hwayo.
